ZMAIL™ - Secure Document Delivery
Zmail is an interface for online secure document delivery &
notarization, within current evidentiary laws. The Zmail solution allows anyone to verifiably notarize, digitally sign, send, receive, and confirm receipt of secure documents and email, with no prior
experience, no email
address change, no installation, and no download. Zmail is a better, faster, and more cost-effective alternative to
overnight delivery using FedEx™ or other services.
Zmail satisfies international, US federal, and state requirements for digital signature of documents and
secure document delivery, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA),
Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC),
International Standards Organization (ISO) 17799,
Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA),
Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOA), and
California SB-1386 regulations. Evidentiary laws may vary by jurisdiction.
Zmail functions for Online
Secure Document Delivery and Notarization include Send Receipt, Return Receipt,
Message ID (Fingerprint), and Message Expiration.
Zmail is a time-tested product, with anti-phishing, mutual authentication, and two-factor authentication technology
first qualified by the Swedish Government's Ministry of Justice Statskontoret in 2001. Zmail does not use ActiveX controls
or cookies. Works with
Windows, Mac, and Linux, using any current email software and web-browser. Zmail is provided in
two editions: Premium and Basic.

certified "Premium Seal" for each user, that is visible to the

controls are available by means of a control dashboard that makes it easy to view, select and customize tracking,
delivery, expiration, release, and several other zmail security services before sending a secure email.
Zmail messages can be read securely with a single-click, even on first contact and without registration. Recipients
can reply securely without cost (using Zmail Basic). Message transport encoding is optimized for deliverability and
spam-trigger avoidance. Single-user or multiple-user accounts with customer self-management. May be

Premium Manager Account: offers centralized administration of users by an
organization, while protecting user privacy. An organization may use a Zmail Premium Manager account
for directly and at any time invite, approve and unsubscribe their own
users. Upon invitation by the organization, the user registers at zmail
to define their own password and receive their own usercode. Upon approval by the
organization, the user is granted a Premium User account linked to the
organization's Premium Manager account; the user is identified online
by a Premium Seal that includes the organization's name. Upon
unsubscription by the organization, the user's Premium User account is
immediately terminated and the Premium Seal revoked. At no moment is the
organization made aware of any user's usercode or password.
The Premium Manager account also includes a resell license, so that Premium Managers may resell
Premium User accounts from their multiple-user Premium Manager account.
Premium Seal: Zmail Premium messages are sent with a certified Premium Seal, that can be clicked by
recipients after they authenticate to read your message: click  to see a sample. Zmail message security information is provided when the
recipient clicks on the Premium Seal logo to verify it. Recipients will know that the sender has a Zmail Premium
commercial account and that the sender took care in sending a secure, authenticated message to them -- and that's
why the message is important.
Credential Recovery: Premium users can login to zmail even if they one day lose their login credentials.
Requires setup after first login. This service is 100% self-managed. Zmail does not have a copy of users' zsentry
usercode, return code or password.

CustomizationZmail Premium may be customized and branded,
by request. In case of interest, please go to the Support Center and submit a Support Ticket.
Some options require an additional fee and license. The following customizations are
available:
- OTP: some organizations already use a time-synchronous One-Time-Password (OTP)
generator, to avoid security issues with a conventional password system. Users carry
a dongle on their key chain, with a display that changes the OTP each 60s. With the OTP,
users also avoid having to remember passwords and can login to several sites. While the
zsentry authentication technology used by zmail obviates the need for OTP generation (because zmail
prevents problems caused by phishing, password files and weak passwords), zmail can also use
the changing OTP from the user's device for authentication, instead of the static zmail password.
- ZSentryID™: ZSentryID extends the security, cost, scalability and zero
footprint benefits of the
ZSentry two-factor user authentication technology to two-channel authentication with a dynamically generated,
unpredictable, One-Time-Password (OTP). ZSentryID takes advantage of mobile phones and pagers, devices
that users already have and know how to use, to send the OTP authentication code required from a user. For

- SMTP or Exchange Server: organizations may want to use their own
SMTP or
Microsoft Exchange server to
send their zmails, for example, to fully manage the entire email cycle and use anti-spam server authentication.
With a Premium Manager account, Zmail can use the organization's server to send zmail messages for any
Premium User subscribed by the organization. There is no added security risk, as the zmail
messages are sent to the organization's server after encryption.
- Branding: zmail messages can be branded and customized to fit an
organization's
communication policy. Customization can use the existing skins (a "skin" is the visual appearance of a zmail
message), with added organization name and web link, or a completely new skin. With a Premium Manager account,
Zmail will use the organization's branding when sending zmail messages for any Premium User subscribed by
the organization.
- Zmail Appliance: zmail services can also be provided at the customer's location, and
physical control, by means of a zmail
appliance. The zmail appliance, at the customer's choice, may be queried by the online zmail service for
resolution by outside users (i.e., users not registered in an organization's zmail appliance may
read zmail sent from the organization's users).
