Yes. Zmail users can login or just read zmail anytime, from anywhere they desire, including from computers they are using temporarily. Zmail is a zero-footprint interface. Session cookies (that are deleted when the browser closes) may be disabled by the user before login, by unchecking the box for "Allow 1-Click Access" before submitting the Usercode.

We do not expect problems with users using any major, current browser. In case of doubt, try the Browser Test function in the top left hand side menu of the zmail home page.

Expand / CollapseCan I use zmail to vote in US public elections?
Yes, for the states that allow electronic ballot transmission. You can also use zmail to register to vote. This is important news for up to 7 million US voters abroad (UOCAVA voters).

The use of zmail solves the privacy and security problem of current methods using regular email, while it still uses regular email to send the encrypted communication. Therefore, because the use of zmail by UOCAVA voters meets the legal communication provisions already authorized, without reducing security, zmail is fully compliant with the applicable US legislation.

Under the Federal Voter Assistance Program, there are several states allowing voter registration and ballot sending electronically, by regular email. This method has the serious shortcoming, now solved by zmail, that regular email is not secure. With regular email, the voter's private registration information (including SSN), and ballot choices are available in clear text for anyone in transit to read or even change them. For a current list of state electronic alternatives, please visit the official Integrated Voting Alternative Site (IVAS) of the FVAP.

To use zmail to register or vote in a US public election under the FVAP -- and preserve your privacy and the secrecy of your vote -- just use zmail as you would use regular email.
